a top pick would represent 10u but rarely will see a pick above 6u

really like Columbus to be right on the cusp of the playoffs this year while Toronto may be worse than last year
Columbus 4u -130

both RSL and Chicago are strong in midfield and attack but horribly weak in defense. Not a big fan of overs in week 1 but this should be a 2.5 goal line, not 2 1/4. New fellas from Gretna (RSL) and Poland (Fire) may both score
RSL/Fire over 2.25 2.5u +105

I kinda disagree w/ your assessment of Toronto FC. They may surprise folks. Not sure about the outcome of this Saturday's match but they do get Wynne and Edu back from the U23 squad.

gl, rolltide.

I don't see how they are any better then last year. They sucked ass last season and now have lost their best technical player (Ronnie O'Brien). Sure Edu and Wynne are improving but this isn't going to cut it. Look forward to another 1000 minute goalless stretch. Last preseason match they fell 2-0 to the Charleston Battery from the USL. Heard they looked atrocious.

MLSE is testing Toronto's strong soccer base. Invest no money in the team (although tempt them with the rumours about big names) and raise ticket prices each season. See how loyal/dumb the supporters are. If crowds slump badly midseason then maybe they'll be forced into delving into those huge profit margins.

huh? Amado Guevara? And from the latest reports he isn't joining TFC any time soon.

Bottom line Toronto is going to be horrible and if the management actually cared about winning and its fans they would've already signed a couple quality players by now. The season is about to start and they've done absolutely nothing. The roster needed upgrades all over the field.

Sorry for the hijack rolltide. GL this weekend.

I agree that the loss of O'Brien will be felt and that Toronto fans might be.....well, taken for granted.

Reds had myriad injuries during their expansion year, so one can understand their bad season.

A new manager but experienced, tho unfamiliar w/ the MLS and experimenting w/ a new formation may make for a slow start. I'm just saying they'll be underrated, not that they will make the playoffs.

Apparently, Toronto is still trying to get Guevara signed by Apr. 15th.

hm, i wrote previews for a private forum so cannot post them all here but ... my thoughts on TFC are below:

Toronto
- well, there's nowhere to go but up, right? After a 25 point season with 1 road win you have to think Toronto will be much more competitive in season #2 but I'm not so sure. They were last in goals scored and last in goals allowed but have great fan support and bring in an English coach that served on staffs with Leeds and Newcastle. This is a very young team and will be very thin at the back with a below-average keeper as last line of defense. Marvell Wynne will someday be a superstar at right back and he is perhaps the fastest player in MLS, but defense is not his forte. Dunivant at left back is not bad at all but the center of defense is troubling, at best. If one thing is certain in this league it is that Toronto's central defense is the worst in the East (if not MLS) and with the promise of more attack, they may really get lit up this year. Attack is below-average for MLS with againg Dichio and Cunningham up front but total depth is not bad as the dropoff from first team to second team striker is not huge. The MF is led by young US star Edu who, along with Wynne, will miss time due to the Olympics later this year. Both left and right midfield is without talent so the entire attack must come from the center third of the field. Basically this team has just a few things going for them...outstanding home field advantage with big crowds and artificial turf, two exciting Americans with Wynne and Edu, and the advantage of having a first year, European head coach which may make for some unortodox play for the opposition (or it may mean he cannot adjust to MLS). I still see this team in the 20's as far as overall points and they'll probably fight with SJ for being 2nd-to-last in the total table. Only sure things are death, taxes, and predict 7th in East

Dallas with serious questions on where the goals will come from and found no answers in preseason. Now they face the best defense in the league and most complete and deepest team. Road teams were awful yesterday but I think Chivas USA does no worse than draw today
Chivas USA level ball 2u +100
